Making A Forged Christmas Tree

Making A Forged Christmas Tree

Every year, our small town's Historical Society organizes the 'Gallery of Trees.' Local businesses and residents decorate unique, themed pre-lit Christmas trees that light up the museum in the weeks leading up to Christmas. You can purchase raffle tickets in hopes of winning your favorite tree! It's a cherished tradition embraced by the entire community.

For many years, I dreamed of creating a distinctive steel tree. As some of you may know,  two of our kids have a rare disease that significantly impacted my work schedule. Finding time for "extra" projects was non existent with three young children at home, two of which were frequently ill. For the first time in a decade, all three kids are doing well, and finally, they are all in school.

I'm ecstatic that they are off learning, making friends, and thriving while I am feeling youthful again, able to work during the day instead of at night!

This new routine has been fantastic. While our primary business revolves around handrails and hardware, adding in some creative projects has been an amazing!

So, here it is, I have crafted a unique steel tree made from 40 forged scrolls, standing 66 inches tall and 36 inches wide. I'm delighted to have built and donated this to support such a great fundraiser!
